Banksy, the world-renowned graffiti artist and activist, is coming to Colorado in 2022. Banksy’s pieces are controversial and often intended as social critiques of politics and culture. The artist’s works have been featured all over the world, from Bethlehem to New York City.

To this day, no one really knows Banksy’s true identity. But, Denver residents can soon enjoy viewing 100 of his original works, which will be featured at the upcoming Banksy art exhibition in Denver next spring.

Who Is Banksy?

The name itself is shrouded in mystery. Only very little is known about the artist, who has managed to maintain complete anonymity through the years. Street artists revere him for his thought-provoking and subversive works, inspiring a continuous dialogue among intellectuals and critics.

Banksy’s 2010 documentary on the commercialization of art, “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” debuted in the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. In 2014, he won a Webby award for Person of the Year. To this day, his identity has never been truly confirmed despite various speculations.

What Makes a Banksy Piece Unique?

Banksy’s works are characterized by a distinct street-art influence. The graffiti-style pieces debuted on public spaces such as walls of cities, streets, and bridges throughout the globe. One of his most popular works is “Girl With Balloon,” the first-ever self-destructing painting, which passed through a shredder installed in the frame when it sold for £1.04 million at Sotheby’s in London.

Since the 1990s, Banksy’s freehand satirical artwork evolved to dark humor with political and social commentaries rendered in a distinct stenciling technique. His pieces were part of the Bristol underground scene, which featured several collaborations between artists and musicians.

What’s Special About This 2022 Banksy Exhibition?

This 2022, fans will surely flock to the largest Banksy art exhibition to be held in Colorado. Opening on April 14, the exact location in Denver is yet to be announced, but it pays to stay on top of updates before all tickets get sold out.

At this touring exhibition, 100 authenticated Banksy works will be featured, and many of these pieces are rarely seen by the public. They are not curated in partnership with the street artist, though. Thanks to private collectors all over the world, these Banksy artworks will be gathered in one location for viewing.

Event organizers say that the exhibit will include Banksy’s famous pieces like “Girl With Balloon,” “Flower Thrower,” and “Rude Copper.” The exhibition is said to be one of a kind because as soon as it’s over, all the pieces will be returned to their respective owners. Plus, displaying everything together a second time is highly unlikely.

Banksy Fans Have No Time To Lose

Banksy art exhibition tickets for adults are priced at $39.99 and up, while tickets for those aged 16 and under cost around $29.99. For ticket choices, they have timed, flexible, and VIP options. You can visit their website for more information.

Buy your tickets now before it’s too late — unless of course, you’re willing to miss the greatest event happening in the street art scene in 2022! Only true Banksy fans will know what these tickets are worth.
