Food trucks have increasingly taken the country by storm over the past decade. With lower overhead costs and a mobile platform to showcase their creations, up-and-coming chefs have been able to share their unique culinary visions with an ever-widening audience.
Recently, the Food Network decided to take it up a notch with their new show, “Food Truck Prize Fight.” The show pits three food trucks in different cities against one another in a competition to see who will come out on top.
The first episode premiered Wednesday night, and Denver was the city of choice. Mukja, Kavi’s Hibachi, and El Taco Bron battled it out for a chance at $10,000 and the exclusive opportunity to be the sole vendor for an event at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Throughout the show’s challenges, the trucks were tested on their cooking abilities and financial management acumen in the fast-paced and competitive world of food trucks. The three teams had to muster their best dishes, develop clever marketing strategies, and generate as much revenue as possible.
However, there could only be one winner. And in Denver, that title went to Mukja.
Filmed in downtown Denver, the challenges had Mukja’s Korean fusion cuisine rise above the rest. From their popular Korean fried chicken to their signature Zucchini pickles, Mukja wowed the judges and customers alike.
Jet Tila, who hosted the show with Denver chef Carrie Baird, described Mukja’s food as “tongue-tickling” and “mind-blowing.”
Mukja is familiar with the Denver food scene. They’ve operated for several years, creating a loyal following amongst Denver’s foodies. The “Food Truck Prize Fight” win is well-deserved and an excellent accolade for the team to add to their impressive resume.
