A large plume of smoke streamed from the Tony Capra Plumbing and Heating building in Denver’s Ballpark District on Friday morning. The fire started burning near 2235 Arapahoe Street before 4 a.m., according to some neighbors and nearby business owners they smelled something unusual but not enough so as not to cause concern until the fire was visual.

It is not known if anyone was injured in the fire. The Denver Police Department said the building was abandoned.

Lawrence Street and Arapahoe Street are closed from 22nd Street to 23rd Street. Broadway is also shut down at Arapahoe Street.

The #DenverFireDepartment responded to an abandoned warehouse fire on 800 N. Seminole Rd. early this morning. The warehouse was unoccupied when crews arrived & luckily there were no injuries. Fire investigators are working to determine cause. @CityofDenver @DenSafetyDept pic.twitter.com/JYZyetVBsY
