Little Hawaii is a somewhat secret hike off of Bear Creek Falls trail. This spot along the river is formed by a giant rock wall with water cascading down into a tranquil pool.

Update: It has been brought to out attention that this beautiful hidden gem is being destroyed by so much foot traffic. We ask please if you visit any of these hidden gems we post that you just respect the environment and leave it just how you found it. Do not leave any trash behind or leave any markings or graffiti of any kind. It is very sad that we have to even make this update about this beautiful hidden gem.

As with all hidden gems, Little Hawaii is a challenge to find. The directions below get you started, but if you want to get all the way to the falls ask a local for specifics!

Respect Little Hawaii if you do visit.

Difficulty: Moderate

Brief Directions:
About twenty minutes after hiking up Bear Creek trail, turn left toward a meadow. This opening in the trees is quite a bit bigger than any of the openings that you have passed so far. In that small field, follow a skinny trail that leads to a two-log bridge. After crossing it, you turn left and continue heading north, and when you see it, you will know you have found it.

Wow, just wow. Why have I never heard of this magical place before? This might be the coolest and most unexpected hidden gems I’ve come across in Telluride. #secrethike
