It’s here. The season so many of us here in Colorado look forward to every year. Renaissance Festival season. It’s time to slather on that sunscreen, slip into those fairy wings or that chain mail and get to Larkspur for a 16th-century amusement park experience!

The park opens for the season, from June 18th to August 7th! It is open on weekends only, Saturdays and Sundays. There are a few ways to grab your tickets. Advanced tickets are available online for $26.50 for adults, $11 for kids, and through King Soopers at a discounted price of $25 for adults and $11 for kids. Or you can grab them at the gate for the full price of $28 for adults, and $12 for kids. Kids under 5 are always free.

This summer will take you on a magical journey through time. You will experience craftsmen and women creating their crafts and selling their fantastical wares. You will be taken in by the tantalizing aromas of roast turkey legs, steak on a stake, fresh baked goods, and much more. Featuring a cast of hundreds of authentically costumed merrymakers living and working throughout the village and performing and interacting continuously with the crowds, and upon the stages, the atmosphere is created!
Don’t forget the jousting. My personal favorite. I am a sucker for a knight in shining armor. Oh, and the falconry is a must-see.

Each weekend has its own theme, so check the website ahead of time to plan your costume accordingly. The festival kicks off the very first weekend with a “Magical Fantasy Weekend”! So bring those kids or those young at heart for a weekend dedicated to fantasy creatures of all ages and varieties. The magical inhabitants of the realm have come out to play! Have a dance with a fairy, and hug a unicorn. Meet a beautiful mermaid. No matter what your favorite magical creature is, you are sure to find them playing this weekend.

The truth is no matter what weekend you choose, you are sure to find magic here, and we could all use a little magic right now.
