$45,000 a year is the new “scrape-by” wage says Denver business leaders

Denver business leaders think $45,000 a year is the new “scrape by” wage for workers in the Mile High city. According to Prosper CO’s website. Local employers struggled to fill jobs two years ago, so the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and its affiliates started the committee.

“An economy that doesn’t work for all Coloradans doesn’t work for us,”

Business leaders in Colorado’s largest city have been grappling with this question of whether the large number of unfilled jobs is caused by a lack of workers or poor pay even before the pandemic started.

In order to determine who the economy wasn’t working for, the organization examined demographic data. Check out the chart below.
