Colorado’s Grocery Game Just Leveled Up: ALDI Is Finally Moving In

ALDI is officially on its way to Colorado and it’s not coming in small. According to a new announcement, the popular discount grocery chain plans to enter the state with a major rollout of more than 50 stores, giving shoppers across the Front Range a brand-new option for affordable groceries.

The expansion is part of ALDI’s larger plan to open 180+ new locations across 31 states, but Colorado is getting one of the biggest pushes. The company says the stores will be spread across the Denver metro and Colorado Springs areas, with the launch happening over the next five years. Even bigger, ALDI also plans to build a new distribution center in Aurora, expected to open in 2029, to support the growth and keep shelves stocked as more stores open.

ALDI has already spent the last 50 years growing its U.S. presence, and the company expects to reach around 2,800 stores nationwide by the end of 2026, with a long-term goal of 3,200 stores by 2028. For Colorado shoppers, that means the countdown is officially on and if the demand is loud enough, northern Colorado cities like Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley could be next in line.
