Military-Themed Bar ‘Bombshells’ Opens in Downtown Denver with Pinup-Style Waitresses
Denver’s sports bar scene has a bold new addition: Bombshells Restaurant and Bar, a military-themed venue featuring pinup model-inspired waitresses and an over-the-top patriotic aesthetic.
Located at 1400 Arapahoe Street, Bombshells is owned by RCI Holdings, the company behind several Denver strip clubs, including Diamond Cabaret Denver and La Boheme Gentlemen’s Cabaret—both just blocks away from the new restaurant.
A Themed Experience with ‘Bombshell Girls’ and Military Decor
The bar, which softly opened on January 24, features over 40 televisions and a menu with military-inspired names like the Double D’s Burger, Pin Up Girl Salad, and Locked and Loaded Cheese Fries. The beer taps are shaped like missiles, and even the pizza is themed, with an option called “Fat Man” This Pizza is the Bomb!
According to a press release, the waitstaff—called “Bombshell Girls”—are designed to bring World War II pinup models to life, mimicking the nose art once painted on fighter planes.
Big Investment in a Prime Location
RCI Holdings reportedly spent $4.5 million on the 8,500-square-foot space, which formerly housed The Oceanaire Seafood Room. The 400-seat venue sits near Auraria Campus housing, adding an interesting mix to the neighborhood’s demographic.
Despite its over-the-top approach, Bombshells offers a 20% discount to veterans and active military personnel, emphasizing its connection to military culture.
RCI’s Rocky History in Colorado
The Denver location marks Bombshells’ first expansion outside of Texas, where the company already operates eleven locations. However, RCI’s ventures in Colorado have not always been smooth, making this opening particularly noteworthy.
With a grand opening scheduled ahead of the Super Bowl on February 9, Bombshells is aiming to make a big splash in downtown Denver—whether locals embrace the concept or not remains to be seen.
