Colorado festival Frozen Dead Guy Days returns in March

Frozen Dead Guy Days, one of the country’s most unusual winter festivals, returns to Estes Park for the second year in a row. This year, the festivities will coincide with St. Patrick’s Day weekend, taking place from March 15th to 17th, 2024, at the Estes Park Events Complex and The Stanley Hotel

The festival is a tribute to the life (and, well, death) of Grandpa Bredo Morstøl, a Norwegian man who was cryogenically frozen after his death in 1989. His remains were initially housed in a Tuff Shed filled with dry ice above Nederland, Colorado. While Grandpa’s icy slumber has since been relocated to a more permanent facility in California, his legacy lives on in the form of this wacky winter celebration.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Frozen Dead Guy Days returned to the scene in 2023 with a new home in Estes Park. The charming mountain town embraced the quirky festival with gusto, and this year promises to be even bigger and better.

The entertainment lineup includes:

  • Yonder Mountain String Band
  • Spafford
  • The Sweet Lillies
  • DeadPhish Orchestra
  • A-Mac & The Height
  • The Jauntee
  • Eminence Ensemble
  • Future Joy
  • Chain Station
  • Lucid Vision
  • Float Like a Buffalo
  • Los Mocochetes
  • Living Room Band
  • Gary Hall and the Occupants

Tickets are available now at: FrozenDeadGuyDays.com.
