In 2021, over $45,000 was raised for the Colorado Disability Funding Committee by auctioning off some Colorado Marijuana Themed License Plates like Green, Stash and Tegrity. It was such a success, they’re back for a second round. You have until April 20th to bid on your favorite pot License plate. This years’ selection is 420, 710, BLUNT, BONGWTR, CANABIS, CBD, CO2, DABBING, EDIBLE, GOTHEMP, GOT OIL, HASH, MRYJANE, NORML, RESIN, TERPENE, THC, TOKER, TRIM, VISINE, WAX, and WEED. The bidding started at $420, and some plates have already surpassed $2,000 on the first day of bidding.
So what are you actually “winning”? If you win your auction, you will be gaining the rights to the phrase on the License Plate, and will still have to pay an additional $60 to the DMV for your plates… And it will cost an additional $25 a year for registration. This is the Standard fee for Vanity Plates in Colorado. These would be a great gift as well. The purchaser may gift the plates to someone else, so if you have a buddy nicknamed TOKER, or your mom’s name is Mary Jane, you can “purchase” them on their behalf.
