Fire Shuts Down Four Businesses in Centennial Strip Mall
An early morning fire forced the closure of four businesses in a Centennial strip mall after inspectors declared the building unsafe to occupy, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. Thursday at 11001 E. Arapahoe Place, home to Bawarchi Indian Cuisine, Happy Paw Grooming, Baker’s Inn, and Vi Vi Vietnamese Noodle Soup & Grill. Firefighters initially believed the flames were contained to one unit, but while ventilating the structure they discovered active fire spreading through the roof.
Roughly 50 firefighters worked for nearly two hours to bring the blaze under control, finally extinguishing it just before 3 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Although smoke and fire damage varied by unit, Centennial’s building inspector has closed all four businesses until repairs can be made, leaving the owners and employees temporarily displaced.
