A Monday afternoon at Rocky Mountain Custom Jewelry in Arapahoe County turned harrowing when sales associate Dylan Drury found himself face-to-face with an armed robber. Initially, Drury believed he was chatting with a potential customer, spending about 20 minutes in friendly conversation. But suddenly, the man jumped over the counter, threatening Drury and demanding compliance, warning that an accomplice might be watching from outside. Surveillance footage reveals the man rifling through the store’s jewelry cases, grabbing nearly 50 items—including rings, gold chains, and diamond bracelets—estimated to be worth between $150,000 to $200,000.

During the robbery, the suspect even apologized, explaining his family was in need, but Drury challenged his excuse, saying, “I’m having a hard time too. I’m not robbing you.” The store owner, Nick Bostedt, saw the man acting suspiciously on the Ring camera from a distance and tried calling Drury to check in, but his calls went unanswered during the incident.

After the suspect fled, law enforcement was called, but officials say he remains at large. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office describes him as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, with dark hair, a thin build, and a tattoo under his right ear. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, red pants with white stripes, and a black baseball cap. The sheriff’s office urges anyone with information to call 911.
