3 Injured at Evergreen High School Shooting, Including Suspected Shooter
Three people are in critical condition after a shooting at Evergreen High School on Wednesday afternoon, including the suspected shooter.

Jefferson County authorities said reports of an “active assailant” came in around 12:24 p.m. Deputies confirmed that three students were shot and transported to a hospital, all listed in critical condition. One of those injured is believed to be the shooter.

Officials designated Bergen Meadow Elementary as the reunification point for families. An urgent alert was also sent to residents in the area warning of the active shooter situation.

Deputies said they do not believe law enforcement fired any rounds. Investigators are working to determine if shots occurred inside or outside the building, as well as the type of weapon used.
Aerial footage showed a heavy emergency response around the school, which serves more than 900 students. Authorities also said a fourth person was hospitalized after being hurt while fleeing the scene, though that individual was not shot.
