Folsom Field, one of the oldest and most iconic college football stadiums in the country, is celebrating its 100th season in 2023. The stadium has seen a lot of history over the past century, and it is now entering a new era of revitalization under new head coach Deion Sanders and a passionate fan base.

Folsom Field was built in 1924 at a cost of just $65,000. The original stadium was a simple horseshoe-shaped structure with a capacity of 26,000 fans. Over the years, the stadium has undergone a number of renovations, including the addition of a press box, upper decks, and luxury suites. The stadium now has a capacity of 52,005 fans.

Folsom Field has been the site of many memorable moments in Colorado Buffaloes football history. The stadium has hosted Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam’s 2,055-yard rushing season in 1994, as well as the Buffaloes’ victory over Nebraska in the Big Eight Championship Game in 1990. The stadium has also hosted a number of high-profile concerts and other events.

In recent years, Folsom Field has seen a decline in attendance. However, the arrival of Sanders as head coach has sparked a renewed sense of excitement among fans. The Buffaloes have sold out all of their home games so far this season, and the atmosphere at Folsom Field has been electric.

Sanders has brought a new energy to the Buffaloes program, and he has quickly won over the fan base. He has also brought in a number of talented recruits, and the Buffaloes are starting to look like a team that can compete for championships.

Folsom Field is a special place for Colorado football fans. The stadium has a unique atmosphere, and it’s one of the loudest and most intimidating places to play in the Pac-12. With Sanders at the helm and a revitalized fan base behind them, the Buffaloes are poised to make a run at a conference championship and return to national prominence.
