ENGLEWOOD, CO – U.S. Marshals in Colorado, working with the Glendale Police Department, apprehended a fugitive on Monday night. The individual, identified as Eliexander Lopez-Burgos, was wanted on a first-degree murder charge stemming from an incident in Washington, D.C.

According to authorities, Lopez-Burgos was allegedly involved in an altercation on November 16th at an Exxon gas station in D.C. The altercation escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting of another person. Following the incident, Lopez-Burgos fled the scene and became a fugitive.
Through collaboration between various law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, the Capitol Area Fugitive Task Force, and the D.C. Metro Police Department, investigators received a tip leading them to Colorado. The tip indicated that Lopez-Burgos was driving a dark-colored Astro Van and had been spotted within the state.
On Monday, acting on the information received, authorities located Lopez-Burgos near the intersection of Leetsdale Drive and South Cherry Street in Englewood. He was apprehended without incident.
