Riverdale Road is an 11-mile stretch  connecting Brighton and Thornton in Adams County, Colorado. It is also known as one of the most haunted roads in America. One of the most popular ghost stories on Riverdale Road is the story of the David Wolpert House.

The house was built in the 1860s and was owned by a wealthy farmer named David Wolpert. Wolpert was a cruel and abusive man, and he is said to have tortured and killed his family. One day, Wolpert went insane and set his house on fire with his family inside. The family perished in the fire, and Wolpert was never seen again.

The David Wolpert House was destroyed in the fire, but the ruins of the house remain. Many people believe that the ghosts of the Wolpert family still haunt the ruins of the house.

There is no scientific evidence to prove that Riverdale Road is haunted. However, the many stories and legends about the road have led many people to believe that it is. There are many stories and legends about the spooky stretch of terrain, some of the most common include:

  • The ghost jogger: A jogger who runs down the road and taps on the sides of passing cars.
  • The phantom Camaro: A black Camaro with one headlight that speeds down the road and then disappears.
  • The vanishing hitchhiker: A woman in white who hitchhikes along the road and then disappears into the night.
  • The ghost town: A ghost town that is said to be located in the woods near Riverdale Road.

Some people believe that the hauntings on Riverdale Road are due to the fact that it is built on an ancient Native American burial ground. Others believe that the hauntings are due to the many tragic accidents that have occurred on the road over the years.

Whether or not you believe in ghosts, Riverdale Road is an interesting and atmospheric place. It is a great place to go for a drive, a walk, or a bike ride. And if you are feeling brave, you can even try to ghost hunt.
