Lauren Boebert Accused of Using Campaign Funds for Kid Rock Outing Amid Dating Rumors
Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is facing renewed scrutiny after reports surfaced that she used campaign funds for what appears to have been a night out at a Kid Rock event. According to Federal Election Commission filings, Boebert’s re-election committee spent $925 on tickets to a Rock N Rodeo show at AT&T Arena in Texas last May — the same weekend Kid Rock hosted the event — followed by $2,455 in charges at a nearby 4-star hotel, Live! By Loews.
The spending was first revealed in August by American Muckrakers, an organization that has actively opposed Boebert since her first campaign. The issue resurfaced after recent media reviews of her FEC disclosures. The allegations come as rumors continue circulating about a relationship between Boebert and Kid Rock. The two were spotted together during President Donald Trump’s inauguration party in January, and witnesses reported them leaving in a cab together around 2:30 a.m. When asked about the relationship a month later, Boebert declined to confirm but admitted they “had a great time.”
Democratic opponent Trisha Calvarese criticized the reported expenditures, calling them further evidence that Boebert “needs a new job.” American Muckrakers has filed a formal complaint with the FEC, citing federal campaign finance laws that prohibit candidates from using campaign funds for personal purposes.
