Nuggets and Avalanche Games Coming to Local TV in Denver
Great news for Colorado sports fans—Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games are making their way back to local television! Thanks to a new partnership between Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) and TEGNA, select games from both teams will be broadcast on 9NEWS this season.
Under this exciting deal, 20 games each from the 2024-25 Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche seasons will be available on KTVD Channel 20. Even better, some of these games will also be simulcast on 9NEWS, making it easier for fans across the Denver metro area and surrounding regions to enjoy the action.
Fans with a digital antenna can watch these games for free, and the broadcasts will continue through April, just in time for the Nuggets and Avalanche to make their postseason runs.

Mark Cornetta, President and General Manager of 9NEWS, expressed his excitement: “The Avs and Nuggets are world-class organizations with world-class fans. They deserve a chance to watch them on TV, especially with their recent success. We’re excited to be working with KSE to make this happen.”
Josh Kroenke, KSE Vice Chairman, echoed this sentiment, saying, “Thanks to this innovative model, our fans can be with us every step of the way this season as we work to bring both the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy and the Stanley Cup back to Denver.”
What’s Coming Up
The Nuggets’ first game on KTVD will be on October 29, when they face the Brooklyn Nets on the road. The Avalanche will make their KTVD debut on October 24, going up against the Utah Hockey Club.
