Target recalls over 4 million candles for faulty jars that can cause burns and lacerations.

Along with federal regulators, the popular shopping outlet announced a major recall for its Threshold Glass Jar Candles last week, according to reports from NPR.

“Target is committed to providing high quality and safe products to our guests,” company spokesperson Joe Unger said in an emailed NPR statement.

So far, 137 reports have been made about the candle jars cracking or breaking during use, with at least six reported injuries.

The candles recalled cost between $3 and $20 and was sold from August 2019 through March 2023. The recall information includes:

  • varieties of 5.5-ounce one-wick candles
  • 14-ounce three-wick candles
  • 20-ounce three-wick candles in scents ranging from warm cider and cinnamon to ocean air and moss and many more

To ensure that the candle you purchased is a part of the recall, check the item number on the button of the jar and visit the Target website for a list of affected item numbers.
