Denver Water Drops New Splashstreet Boys Music Video to Promote Smarter Watering

Denver Water has released a follow-up parody music video, “Water Tuesday (Splashstreet’s Back),” urging residents to switch their outdoor watering days to Tuesdays and Thursdays. The track is a playful spin on the Backstreet Boys’ 1997 hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and follows up on last year’s viral sensation, “I Water That Way.”

The Splashstreet Boys — Denver Water’s in-house parody group — are using humor and nostalgia to address a serious issue: most sprinkler systems are set to water on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, which creates demand spikes that strain the city’s infrastructure. These surges can increase energy costs and push treatment plants to their limits.

Denver Water says the new video is a creative effort to shift behavior after traditional outreach failed to move the needle. The message is clear: spreading out watering to different days helps protect the water system.

The video includes a surreal storyline featuring the group’s infamous “Running Toilet” character, who dreams of being judged by dancing water-conservation monsters. While lighthearted in tone, the campaign delivers a targeted call to action for Denver-area residents to help balance the system and conserve resources.
