Teens Charged in Fort Collins Shooting That Injured Woman During Car Theft Attempt

Two Juveniles Arrested in Fort Collins Shooting During Car Break-In

Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Fort Collins that left a woman injured after she confronted suspects breaking into her vehicle.

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on October 21 in the 700 block of Crown Ridge Lane. According to Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), a family member woke the woman after spotting two unknown males attempting to break into her car parked in front of their home. When the woman ran outside to confront them, one of the suspects fired multiple shots before both fled the scene.

The woman was struck in the leg and received medical assistance from police before being transported to a hospital. She was treated for her injuries and later released.

After an investigation, police announced on Tuesday that two juveniles had been arrested in connection to the incident. Their identities are not being disclosed due to their age.

Charges Filed

The first suspect faces the following charges:

  • Attempted first-degree murder
  • First-degree assault
  • First-degree criminal trespass to a vehicle
  • Tampering with physical evidence in a felony case

The second suspect faces the following charges:

  • Accessory to a crime
  • Aggravated robbery with a gun
  • Criminal attempt to commit a class 3 felony
  • Possession of a handgun by a juvenile
  • First-degree criminal trespass to a vehicle

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events of that night.
