Imagine you’re on a grocery mission, but instead of battling long lines and empty shelves, you’re facing the ultimate foe: the worst grocery store in the nation. Yikes!

Well, according to a recent study by Solitaired.com, that dubious title belongs to a Colorado chain. But before we reveal the (un)lucky winner, let’s dive into the research.

Solitaired.com set out to find the cream of the crop and the rotten apples of the grocery store world. They analyzed over 3,000 stores across 100 U.S. cities, taking customer ratings and review volume into account.

The results? A fascinating (and maybe slightly stomach-churning) mix of grocery giants.

So, which Colorado chain took the (un)coveted crown for the worst grocery store experience? Drumroll, please… King Soopers!

“King Soopers on S. Peoria St. in Aurora, CO, tops the list of stores with the worst lines with a 4.95% frequency of complaints. This is followed by Whole Foods Market on Greene St. in Jersey City, NJ, and another King Soopers location on S. Havana St. in Aurora, CO,” the study said.

With an average customer rating of just 3.938 out of 5, they fell nearly a full point behind the runner-up, Save A Lot. Interestingly, King Soopers’ parent company, Kroger, landed a slightly higher rating of 4.023, suggesting the issues might be specific to certain locations.

But wait, there’s more! The study also revealed individual King Soopers stores in Colorado with particularly low customer satisfaction.
