Two Hospitalized After Rollover Crash Shuts Down East 144th Avenue in Thornton

A serious single-vehicle crash brought traffic to a halt Tuesday afternoon in Thornton, prompting a full closure of East 144th Avenue between Holly Street and Fairfax Drive.

Thornton Police say the rollover occurred just after 12:40 p.m., leaving a red vehicle overturned on its roof atop a raised, landscaped median. Two adults were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that have not yet been disclosed.

Officers and emergency crews remained on scene for hours, investigating the cause of the crash and clearing debris. Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway fully reopens.
