Man Sentenced After Teen Slammed to Ground at Loveland In-N-Out

A Colorado man has been sentenced after a viral 2024 video showed a 15-year-old boy being thrown to the ground inside an In-N-Out Burger in Loveland.

On Monday, Lucas Kalisher pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree assault, according to the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. The case stems from an August 4, 2024 incident at the In-N-Out on Fall River Drive, where a group of teens were splashing water on each other and accidentally got some on a woman nearby.

Police say the teen went over to apologize, but the situation escalated. Investigators said Kalisher grabbed the teen, put his hands around the boy’s neck, pulled him toward a table, and slammed him to the floor. Kalisher and the woman left before officers arrived. He later surrendered after a warrant was issued.

Now two years later, Kalisher has been sentenced to 30 months of probation. Conditions include completing an anger management evaluation and any recommended treatment, writing an apology letter to the victim, performing 120 hours of community service, and paying restitution.

Prosecutors say if he fails to meet those terms, he could face sentencing on a Class 5 felony, which carries 1 to 3 years in prison, two years of parole, and fines up to $100,000.
