Same Suspect, Same Tool: Early Morning Burglaries Shake Westminster Business

Westminster police are asking for the public’s help after a local business was hit by two early-morning burglaries that appear to be connected.

According to WPD, officers responded to incidents at a business in the 2900 block of 72nd Avenue on February 9 around 6 a.m. and again on March 17 just before 7 a.m. In both cases, the suspect used an electric handsaw to force entry into the building, causing significant damage and making off with multiple electronic items.

Investigators believe the same suspect may be responsible for both break-ins based on similarities in the method and evidence collected at the scene. The suspect is described as an unknown male wearing a hoodie, pants and black shoes.

The targeted business had security systems in place and has been fully cooperating with police as the investigation continues. Authorities are now turning to the community, hoping someone may recognize the suspect or have information that could lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Westminster Police at 303-658-4360. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers, where you could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Police say incidents like these are frustrating for business owners and are encouraging others to take extra precautions, including reinforcing entry points, installing alarm systems and using motion-activated lighting to help deter criminal activity.
