Many areas in our state are expected to get inches and, in some places, feet of snow. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Denver from 5 pm Tuesday until 5 pm Wednesday. The forecasters are calling for 8-12″ of snow for the Denver-Metro area.

The CDOT is urging drivers to be aware of chain and traction law codes before heading out in snowy conditions, especially in the high country.
- Code 18/Commercial Chain Law: Commercial vehicles and trucks must have chains.
- Code 15/Passenger Traction Law: All passenger vehicles must have appropriate all-weather tires with 3/16-inch depth.
- Code 16/Passenger Chain Law: All passenger vehicles need chains, except for 4WD and AWD vehicles with all-weather tires with 3/16-inch tread depth.
