Martha Stewart is a chef, home decor icon, businesswoman, television personality, and now swimsuit model.

“Usually, I’m motivated by pay. But this time, I was motivated by showing people that a woman my age could still look good, feel good, be good,” Stewart said to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

Stewart wearing a plunging white one-piece swimsuit and a silk orange cover said modeling for SI would be a “challenge,” but it’s one that she was up for.

“To be on the cover at my age was a challenge. And I think I met the challenge.” Stewart said while on the “Today” show “I’m going to be the oldest person ever, I think, on the cover of Sports Illustrated. And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic and that I better look really good.”

According to SI, Stewart has officially made history as the oldest person to grace the sports magazine cover with the goal of showcasing “women of today.”

“While the industry wavers on its arbitrary notion of beauty, our issue has stayed the course, showcasing the women of today, the women shaping the future,” says MJ Day, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s editor-in-chief to Yahoo Life. “Martha Stewart is a legend. The definition of a great female entrepreneur who built a dynasty against insurmountable odds.”

Stewart reveals how she got “cover ready” while talking to the “Today” show, admitting to not starving herself for the cover; instead, she made a few adjustments to her daily routine.

“I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple months. I went to Pilates every other day … I live a clean life anyway. Good diet and good exercise and healthy skin care and all of that stuff, but it was kind of fun.”
