Coloradans are up for major savings as the statewide e-bike rebate program launches Wednesday August 15 at 9 a.m. The rebate lasts from Wednesday, August 16, at 9 a.m., to Monday, August 21, at 1 p.m on the Colorado Energy Office website.

While the rebate is a great idea, it’s yet to be available for everyone. Here’s who can participate:

  • Qualified low-income residents can receive a minimum of $1,100 rebate.
  • Qualified moderate-income residents can receive a $500 rebate.

Income requirements are determined by the number of people and income in the household based on the AMI, Area Median Income by county. In order to qualify for low-income status you’ll  have to show income below the 80% of AMI. As for the moderate-income option, you must also show a total household income ranging between 80%-100% of the AMI.

If you’re eligible  for a rebate you have 60 days to use it at participating retailers.

“The statewide program is different from Denver’s e-bike rebate program in that applicants will be randomly chosen instead of scrambling to beat other bicyclists on a first-come, first-served basis,” says Denver7.

Wednesday’s e-bike rebate vouchers are only for low-income and moderate-income households. However, in 2024 the e-bike rebate program will be available to all residents.
