Will Denver Hit 100 Degrees Again This Summer?

Denver has already experienced record-breaking heat this summer, hitting triple digits on three separate days. Historically, the city’s hottest days typically fall between July 17 and 22. With a forecasted cooldown this week, Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Travis Michels notes there are still a couple of weeks where Denver could potentially hit 100 degrees again.

While such extreme temperatures are usually rare, this summer has been unusually hot, making another 100-degree day possible. However, Michels believes that the extreme heat may have passed, given the forecast for the next seven days showing temperatures in the 80s and low 90s. For Denver to reach 100 degrees again, a significant warm-up would be needed.

As August approaches, the likelihood of hitting 100 degrees diminishes, although it’s not impossible. Denver’s last 100-degree day this year may have been July 12, but weather patterns can be unpredictable. Based on National Weather Service records, Denver usually hits 100 degrees in June and July, but has occasionally reached such temperatures as late as September.

While it’s too soon to definitively say what the rest of the summer holds, the current forecast suggests that Denver may have seen its last 100-degree day for the year.
