F-16 Vipers to Fly Over Colorado This Memorial Day Weekend

Keep your eyes on the skies this Memorial Day weekend as four F-16 Vipers from the Colorado Air National Guard’s 140th Wing will perform flyovers across several Colorado communities in tribute to fallen servicemembers. These aerial salutes, scheduled for Saturday and Monday, aim to honor those who gave their lives in service to the country.

“This Memorial Day flyover is more than a display of airpower,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Christopher “KojaCk” Melka. “It is a solemn tribute to our fallen heroes, a reminder to our community of the sacrifices made for freedom, and a powerful symbol of our unwavering commitment to honor those who gave all.”

The flyovers are set to begin at 10 a.m. both days, though exact times may vary due to weather. Communities along the flight path include Denver, Aurora, Grand Junction, Durango, Boulder, and others, with stops at key locations like Fort Logan National Cemetery and the Colorado Freedom Memorial. Even if you’re not near these specific spots, the F-16s may be visible in nearby areas as they transit across the state.

Here’s a breakdown of the flyover schedule:
