Morrison Inn – Basic Name For No Basic Place

Being a ‘restaurant columnist’ is a hard, painful job, let me tell you. Two-three times a week, you need to drive to different venues – take in the atmosphere, try most popular items on the menu, find out interesting facts about the place, and sometimes even have a few drinks, if the place is known for it. I know, it isn’t a job for everyone. On one of such devastating outings, fate (in the face of my boyfriend) took me to a place with an intriguing name called Morrison Inn. Located in the town of, well – Morrison, Morrison Inn is known for two, I would say life essential things – award winning (mind you) Margaritas and their voted best in Colorado patio. We could technically finish the article here, since there is no further convincing that needs to be done; however I need to meet my 2,000 words, and some of you may be trying to meet your reading goal for the day, just looking out for ya.

What sets apart a good margarita from an award-winning margarita, might you wonder. The size. Who is more likely to give high ratings – a person who drank a 12 oz. margarita or a 60 oz. margarita? I think the latter. Not only does Morrison Inn offer 5 different kinds of margaritas, they also feature a wide variety of floater/flavor choices, and are definitely very generous with their size options. If you ever feel like having a biiig drink, but don’t need it to come with a side of judgement, here’s one place for you.
You can thank me later.

Now let’s talk about the patio. What makes a great patio? The size. I’m joking, the size – yes, but also the view, the presence of live music, comfortable temperature, and also something transparent – the vibe. I don’t remember seeing much of a view, but maybe my height category doesn’t get much of a view regardless of where we go. The rest, however, is all there ??According to their website, Morrison Inn features a different artist every day from 5-9 pm, and also from 12-4 pm on select days. The temperature is controlled by a misting system that is ran throughout the patio. Doesn’t make for a bad vibe, does it?

On some days it’s nice to drop into downtown and go hard in tune with the big city, on some days it just feels right to slow down and enjoy that simple living. Go with what your senses (and your friends) are whispering in your ear that day, and you are bound to have a good time wherever you choose to go. While GPS-ing to a new place and going with the waiter’s suggestions may not be a difficult task, presenting each restaurant in a way that highlights it’s best features sure is a talent worth feeding.
