It’s that time of year again! Pumpkins are everywhere and people are lining up to buy them by truckload. What do you do with all those pumpkins once they’re carved? Add them to your favorite drink recipe, of course! Here is a list of some healthy drinks with pumpkin in it.

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie: This smoothie is the perfect drink for a fall day. It’s easy and tastes just like pumpkin pie! Add one cup of plain yogurt, ½ cup vanilla ice cream, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon ginger powder or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional), half of a banana, and one cup of pumpkin puree. Mix in a blender until smooth, pour into glasses, top with whipped cream or an extra scoop of ice cream if desired, and serve!

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake: This milkshake will really hit the spot on cold fall days. It’s super easy to make too! Add one cup of vanilla ice cream, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon ginger powder or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional), half a banana, and one cup of pumpkin puree. Blend well until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve with whipped cream on top if desired!

Spice It Up

Pumpkin Spice Latte: This drink is a great way to warm up on cold fall days. Add two teaspoons of pumpkin puree, ¼ cup milk (skim, soy, or regular), one teaspoon vanilla extract, and ⅛ teaspoon each cinnamon, ginger powder, or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional). Stir in a saucepan over medium heat until the spices are mixed in well. Pour into a mug and garnish with whipped cream or pumpkin pie spice if desired!

Pumpkin Spice Coffee: This coffee is perfect for fall mornings, especially after spending time outdoors during the day. Add two teaspoons of canned pumpkin puree, ¼ cup milk (skim, soy, or regular), one teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon ginger powder or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional), and mix until well blended. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream if desired!

Pumpkin Pie Dessert Wine: This wine is perfect for festive gatherings in the fall. Add about one cup of canned pumpkin puree, two cups of apple juice or cider (preferably not from concentrate), one cup of white wine, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon ginger powder or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional), and mix until well blended. Serve in a stemmed glass!

Pumpkin Spice Tea: This tea is just right for fall days. Add one teaspoon of pumpkin puree, ¼ cup milk (skim, soy, or regular), ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon, and ⅛ teaspoons ginger powder or freshly grated nutmeg to taste (optional). Pour into a mug and heat in the microwave for about two minutes until hot. Garnish with whipped cream or pumpkin pie spice if desired.
