A Post-Holiday Rumble In The Friendly Skies?
Did you think the excitement of the holidays was over? Hold that thought. Two passengers on a plane bound for Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport have other ideas.
There was an incident on an evening flight the day after Christmas. One passenger physically (and verbally) assaulted another passenger on the flight from Tampa to Atlanta.
Other passengers and crew recorded the incident aboard the plane. The video shows an outraged woman (also not wearing a mask) demanding that an elderly passenger keep his mask on.

Delta Airlines Passenger Attacks Another Passenger – While Onboard The Plane
The elderly passenger apparently took his mask off to eat and drink while on the plane.
When the elderly man refused to put on his mask without finishing his meal, the female passenger completely lost her cool. Not only was she yelling and cursing in his face (at a social distance of much less than six feet apart) she also had the audacity to reach out and slap him in the face when he replied with a few choice words of his own.
In a video clip shared by @ATLUncensored on Twitter, we can see the woman standing up on the airplane and shouting expletives at the elderly passenger over the back of the seat.
We can clearly hear her yelling “put your [expletive] mask on!” while pointing in his face.
We can also clearly hear one of the female crew members who intervened during the incident asking Cornwell to put her mask on. Instead of putting her own mask on, she turned back to the elderly passenger and continued to berate him about not wearing a mask. “Mask up”!
Immediately after repeating the words of the flight attendant, Cornwell reached out and slapped the older passenger in the face when he called her the “B-word.”
Adding the ultimate insult to a very public injury, the woman completed her tirade by spitting directly into the man’s face — while he was still eating.
After the flight crew tried to restrain the woman, she spat on the elderly passenger.
Public Outrage, Police Involvement, and The FBI
Twitter commenters noted the woman was neither wearing a mask nor following social distancing guidelines as she slapped and spit on the elderly passenger and had to be restrained by the onboard flight crew.
In the end, it took almost two full minutes, two flight attendants, and three Delta passengers to restrain the offending passenger. Delta Airlines passenger who recorded the video also noted that Cornwall’s mask was off during the entire incident.
The Atlanta Police Department and the FBI was on standby to take Cornwall into custody when the plane landed.
