Dave Chappelle Tackled During Show in L.A.

Dave Chappelle was performing at the Hollywood Bowl in California on Tuesday night when someone in the audience rushed the stage and not only attacked the comedian, but even pulled a gun out.

It all happened near the end of Dave’s show which was part of the “Netflix Is A Joke” festival. Somehow a man in the audience made his way on stage and tackled Dave slamming him hard to the ground.

TMZ talked with L.A. law enforcement who said, “the attacker actually pointed the gun at Chapelle as he rushed him”. Fortunately the gun was apparently not real, and was a replica of a semi-automatic.

 

An eyewitness told TMZ that the attacker got up right after with a swarm of people that began chasing after him. The eyewitness said, “the mob caught up with him and beat the crap out of him, stomping on him.” Including Jamie Foxx and Busta Rhymes who were able to get in a few punches themselve.

Chappelle ended up being ok but the attacker was not so lucky. He was injured and taken to an ambulance by stretcher and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

Dave finished up the show and the act, telling the audience, “I don’t know if that was part of the show. I grabbed the back of that n***** head, his hair was spongy, absorbent.”

Chris Rock was there too, as one of Dave’s special guests. Chris even walked on stage, hugged Chappelle and said, “Was that Will Smith?”
