Spring has sprung, and with it comes an abundance of colorful flowers in Denver! Whether you’re admiring the blooms from afar or getting up close and personal at one of Denver’s many gardens, there’s no denying that this city is in bloom. So take a break from your usual routine and explore all that Denver and Colorado offer when it comes to flowers. You won’t regret it!

Here are five to kick off your nature-seeking adventures, picnic destinations, or lazy afternoons in the park.

1. Alamo Placita Park
Ogden St & 3rd Ave
Situated north of Speer Boulevard, the park is bisected by East 3rd Avenue. The southern section, visible from Speer Boulevard, consists of a sunken Italianate flower garden accessed by sandstone steps.

2. Denver Botanic Gardens
1007 York St.
One of the top five botanic gardens in the nation, Denver Botanic Gardens is an oasis in the city, offering year-round events, Mordecai Children’s Garden, garden concerts, and magical benches under the shade of a tree to read a book.

3. Washington Park
S. Downing St. & E. Louisiana Ave.
155 acres of peaceful grounds, including two lakes. Two flower gardens, one of which is a replica of George Washington’s gardens at Mount Vernon.

4. Tagawa Gardens in Centennial
7711 S Parker Rd Centennial

5. Hudson Gardens
6115 S Santa Fe Dr, Littleton
A nonprofit organization encompassing thirty acres of garden exhibits, trails, open spaces, and event venues only minutes from downtown Littleton. They provide free admission from sunrise to sunset every day of the year for self-directed exploration.
