Nissan is taking a leading role in the sustainable reuse of electric vehicle (EV) batteries by repurposing them for portable power sources. The company is currently testing batteries from old LEAF electric vehicles in Japan, and plans to begin selling the portable power stations in the country later this year.

Each LEAF uses 48 battery modules, and the portable power stations contain two modules. The power stations can be used to power homes, businesses, and other facilities during power outages or other emergencies. They can also be used to charge electric vehicles and other devices.

Nissan’s decision to repurpose LEAF batteries is a significant step forward for the EV industry. EV batteries are expensive and contain valuable resources, so reusing them helps to reduce the environmental impact of EV production and disposal.

TYNAN’S Nissan, the #1 Nissan LEAF dealer in the state of Colorado, is proud to support Nissan’s sustainability efforts. The dealership offers a variety of services to help LEAF owners maximize the lifespan of their batteries, including battery conditioning and replacement. TYNAN’S Nissan is also committed to educating customers about the importance of EV battery recycling and reuse.

Here are some of the benefits of Nissan’s portable power stations:

  • They can be used to power homes, businesses, and other facilities during power outages or other emergencies.
  • They can be used to charge electric vehicles and other devices.
  • They help to reduce the environmental impact of EV production and disposal.

TYNAN’S Nissan is committed to helping customers adopt sustainable transportation solutions. The dealership offers a variety of EVs, including the LEAF, and provides customers with the information and support they need to make informed decisions about their transportation choices.
