Colorado Eatery Serves The Best ‘Cheap Eats’ in the State
You don’t have to break the bank to enjoy a delicious dish that doesn’t compromise on flavor. Many restaurants offer options that pack a punch for a small price, giving diners great value.
Cheapism searched for the best “cheap eats” around the country and compiled a list of the top dish in every state that costs $12 or less, featuring everything from gooey, chocolatey desserts to regional takes on classic dishes. According to Cheapism, the best inexpensive dish in Colorado is the slopper served at Gray’s Coors Tavern in Pueblo, with the unique regional offering at Star Bar, also in Pueblo, named as the runner-up.
Here’s what Cheapism had to say about the best cheap dish in Colorado:
“Sloppers — cheeseburgers topped with green chili, raw onions, and shredded cheese — are a local delicacy in Pueblo, Colorado, where two restaurants often compete for the claim to its invention. At Gray’s, you can get the half-slopped, which comes with one patty for $12, or go all the way up to a triple for under $17. Star Bar is the other location in Pueblo known for its slopper history.”
