As temperatures start to cool off and the seasons change, critters will find their way into your home for the colder seasons.

While most spiders are harmless, there are plenty to worry about. Depending on your region, worldwide there are more poisonous spiders in warmer climates than in colder ones. Here in the U.S., there are more than 3,000 spider species.

Here are three dangerous spiders in Denver to look out for:

Black Widow

The Black Widow has been made into a song and used as a reference point for danger in various ways. The infamous black spider with red hourglass markings is dangerous and deadly to humans. The females pack the most venom that can cause permanent damage and even death.

Hobo Spider

The hobo spider al, known as the house spider, is known to be “shy and only bites when threatened,” says Whitemore Pest Control. Their bites are not fatal but painful and can cause headaches, blisters, and lesions. They tend to hide in dark, damp places such as basements and crawl spaces, sometimes cabinets.

While the Hobo and Black Widow spiders are most known to be either deadly or painful, there are a few other eight-legged friends to be aware of. The Yellow Sac Spider, Tarantula, and Brown Recluse spiders have been known to creep around the state, packing a bit of a punch within their venom.

If you think a deadly spider has bitten you, seek medical professional help immediately.
