CU Boulder Debuts First-Ever Drone Show at Football Halftime
CU Boulder is lighting up the sky in a brand-new way. During Saturday’s football game against BYU at Folsom Field, the university will debut its first halftime drone show, celebrating both CU’s 150th anniversary and Colorado’s statehood milestone.
Produced by Brightflight Drone Shows, the 10-minute performance will feature hundreds of synchronized drones forming images of Colorado icons like the Flatirons, Ralphie the buffalo, and even head coach Deion Sanders. The spectacle also marks the official launch of the America 250 – Colorado 150 Commission’s statewide “Stories in the Sky” series, which will include 150 shows across the state leading up to the U.S. semiquincentennial.
The event is a milestone not just for Buffs fans but for the entire state, blending technology, tradition, and Colorado pride into one dazzling halftime moment.
