South Metro Fire Rescue Responds to Garage Fire Involving Multiple Vehicles
Firefighters with South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a residential garage fire involving three vehicles that extended into a home, according to officials.
All four occupants of the residence were able to safely evacuate before crews arrived. One person was evaluated at the scene by fire medics and later released. The displaced residents are receiving assistance following the incident as seen in this X VIDEO
Fire crews determined that one of the vehicles involved was a hybrid. As a precaution, firefighters removed the vehicle from the garage to reduce the risk of additional fire hazards associated with the battery system.
Approximately 40 personnel responded to the fire and worked to bring the blaze under control. Crews remained on scene conducting overhaul operations, searching for hotspots, and monitoring for potential flare-ups.
Officials later confirmed that the fire had been brought under control. However, investigators from the South Metro Fire Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office are continuing to investigate both the original cause of the fire and a subsequent rekindle that occurred overnight.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and under investigation.
