Colorado’s future Front Range passenger rail finally has a name—and it’s one locals helped choose.
After nearly 26,000 votes in a statewide naming contest, officials announced that “Colorado Connector,” or “CoCo,” will be the official name of the planned rail line linking communities from Fort Collins to Pueblo. The announcement came from the Front Range Passenger Rail District and Jared Polis on Monday, with the winning name earning 36.8% of the vote.

The Colorado Connector aims to provide a faster, cleaner, and more convenient way to travel along the Front Range, connecting major population hubs across the state. While the project is currently targeting a 2029 launch, agreements with some communities along the route are still being finalized.
State leaders say the name captures the vision of the project—bringing Coloradans together with a modern transportation option designed to ease congestion and improve regional connectivity.
