Coastal Mexican Cuisine Replaces California Pizza Kitchen in Cherry Creek

Cherry Creek Shopping Center is about to get a fresh culinary twist. After bidding farewell to its only California Pizza Kitchen this summer, the mall is making way for Ash + Agave—a new restaurant from the same local team behind Blue Island Oyster Bar and Oliver’s Italian.

Slated to open in 2026, Ash + Agave promises an inspired look at coastal Mexico. Expect housemade tortillas and wood-grilled meats, fresh seafood, and creative cocktails featuring agave and mezcal. The concept will spotlight bold, authentic flavors rooted in the Mexican Riviera, complete with rustic, wood-fired cooking and fiery coastal flair.

Located in the former California Pizza Kitchen space—right next to Kona Grill and 801 Chophouse—this new addition is sure to catch the eye (and taste buds) of Cherry Creek shoppers. While locals may miss the crisp pizzas and familiar hybrid menu of CPK, there’s still a nearby location in Lone Tree for loyal fans.

Ash + Agave offers something different: a hip, coastal escape without leaving the city—perfect for those craving South-of-the-border flavors with a modern, upscale twist.
