The BOLDERBoulder 10k invites all walkers, runners, sprinters, and on-lookers to this year’s event on May 29.

First starting in 1979 as a simple race, 40 years later, it turned into “one of the largest and most highly acclaimed 10k’s in the world,” according to the companies website. Popular magazine and runners website, Runners World reports the BOLDERBoulder is “America’s All-Time Best 10s in the world.”

“Olympic medal winners and hopefuls, grandmothers and kids, running enthusiasts and one-race-a-year guests from all over the world come together at the foot of the Rocky Mountains to form one of the sport’s truly unique events,” says the BOLDERBoulder website.

Participants can enjoy the race either in person or online. Registration fees range from $69 to $94 for adults and $59 – $84 for children. Each registration package includes the following:

  • Official BB10K Shirt – your choice!
  • Race Bib & Official Timing Chip
  • Snack Bag & Drink
  • Stadium Entry for Pro-Race Finish
  • Stadium Entry for Memorial Day Tribute
  • RaceDay EXPO Entry

If you truly want to do the race in Colorado style, consider purchasing a pair of BOLDERBoulder shoes from the local shoe company Altra. The shoe encapsulates Colorado with the state colors of red, blue, and yellow. According to Denver7, Altra’s partnership with BOLDERBoulder was a “natural fit.”

“It’s right in our backyard. It’s one of the biggest 10k’s in the world, with more than 50,000 runners,” said Altra Marketing Director Reyna Alishio to Denver7. “Any runner that’s there to enjoy running with their family and enjoy the music, or you can be super competitive. That’s Altra’s position. We want to serve all kinds of runners.”

For more information on becoming a vendor, sponsor, or registering for the race, visit the BOLDERBoulder website.
