Casa Bonita Finally Opens Reservations to the Public After Months of Anticipation

The wait for the “Disneyland of Mexican restaurants” is almost over! Starting September 16, Casa Bonita, Colorado’s iconic and beloved eatery, will begin accepting reservations from the general public.

It’s been just over a year since Casa Bonita welcomed its first guests back inside the famous pink walls of its Lakewood location on Colfax Avenue. The restaurant, purchased by the creators of South Park in August 2021, gained even more fame after being featured in an episode of the show.

Fans have faced a long wait to dine at the restaurant, especially if they weren’t among the lucky few who secured a “golden ticket” to make a reservation since its reopening in May 2023.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone collaborated with renowned Denver chef Dana Rodriguez to completely overhaul the restaurant’s kitchen, addressing its infamous reputation for mediocre food. Alongside this transformation, the duo introduced a waitlist system, with reservation links sent via email to those who signed up.

Starting at 3 p.m. on September 16, anyone can make reservations through the Casa Bonita website, with bookings available as early as October 1. Those who still have an invitation link can schedule their reservation through September 30.

The owners have hinted at exciting new changes starting October 1, including enhancements to the food menu and a shift to full table service, eliminating the need for pre-payment. However, all guests aged 3 and older will be required to order an entrée, priced between $29.99 and $39.99, depending on the time of day.

As for what other changes are in store, that remains a mystery. The website teases, “Much of your Casa Bonita experience will remain the same, creating great memories for all. Following your meal, you’ll go on to enjoy our adventurous world of exploration, entertainment, and play.”

With the current entertainment lineup—including cliff divers, Black Bart’s Cave, live mariachi, gorilla performances, and puppet shows—it’s anyone’s guess what surprises Casa Bonita has planned after October 1.
