Casa Bonita Opens Public Reservations: What You Need to Know

After much anticipation, Casa Bonita is opening reservations to the public on Monday afternoon. For years, this iconic Mexican restaurant has been a nostalgic hotspot for birthdays and celebrations since its original opening in the 1970s. However, in 2021, the restaurant’s owners filed for bankruptcy, leaving its future uncertain. That is until the creators of “South Park” stepped in, purchasing the beloved pink landmark and investing over $40 million in its renovation.

While Casa Bonita reopened last summer, many have yet to experience its famous cliff divers and puppet shows due to the exclusive, ticketed waitlist. Now, with reservations opening to the public, here’s what you need to know to book a table at the “Disneyland of Mexican restaurants.”

Key Details for Booking Casa Bonita Reservations

Public Reservations Open Today
Starting Monday, you can make reservations directly on Casa Bonita’s website. However, some lucky guests will have the opportunity to book earlier than others.

Casa Bonita previously launched a Founders Club for those who signed up for the restaurant’s email list. Founders Club members received special perks, including discounts at El Mercado and early access to reservations. While the Founders Club is no longer accepting new members, those who signed up can start booking their reservations at 9 a.m. on Monday. For everyone else, reservations will be available starting at 3 p.m.

No Prepayment Required, But Have a Card Ready
Diners no longer need to prepay for their meals, but Casa Bonita requires a credit card on file to secure reservations. While no charges will be made upfront, the restaurant will charge $10 per person if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation or fail to show up. Modifications and cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance won’t incur a fee.

Include Everyone in the Seat Count
Casa Bonita accepts parties of up to 10 people, and it’s important to include every member of your group, even children under three. While young children must be counted for seating, they aren’t required to order an entrée.

September Reservation Links Are Still Valid
If you received a booking link from the previous waitlist, it will remain valid through the end of September. After that, all bookings will need to go through the main website. Rest assured, any reservations made for September are guaranteed.

Now’s your chance to snag a reservation and enjoy the revamped Casa Bonita!
