One Dead, Another Injured in Early Morning Shooting Near Downtown Denver
A deadly shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning has left one person dead and another injured near the intersection of 10th Avenue and North Lincoln Street, just south of downtown Denver. The incident, which occurred shortly before 4 a.m., is now being investigated as a homicide, according to the Denver Police Department (DPD).
Officers responded quickly after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims—one suffering from life-threatening injuries and another with a minor injury. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, where one of the victims was later pronounced dead.
The identities of the victims have not been released, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. DPD says it is actively working to gather information about potential suspects but has not yet made any arrests.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
The area, which sits between the bustling Golden Triangle and Capitol Hill neighborhoods, has seen increased foot traffic and nightlife activity in recent years—making this act of violence especially alarming for residents and business owners nearby. DPD says additional patrols may be added in the area as the investigation continues.
