Denver Rolling Out New Parking Rules in Four Neighborhoods

Street parking in Denver is about to change as city officials launch new curbside regulations in four busy neighborhoods: Highland, Cherry Creek, 7th Avenue, and Jefferson Park. The updates are designed to make it easier for residents to find parking near their homes while keeping spots available for visitors headed to local shops and restaurants.

The new rules vary by area but include two- and three-hour limits for non-residents, with annual permits available for locals at $20 to bypass restrictions. Cherry Creek and 7th Avenue will see more paid parking, while Jefferson Park and Highland will have stricter enforcement and updated permit programs.

City leaders say the changes are part of a larger effort to balance the needs of residents, workers, and businesses in high-traffic neighborhoods. Denver has already experimented with similar measures around Mile High Stadium, where game days often lead to towing crackdowns.

Officials argue the changes will reduce congestion, support businesses, and improve access, though not all residents are on board. Those who want to weigh in or request adjustments for their neighborhoods are encouraged to contact the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure or their city council representative.
