Denver Weather: Near-Record Heat Triggers Alert Days for Friday and Saturday

Get ready to sweat, Denver—forecasters have issued Weather Alert Days for both Friday and Saturday as temperatures soar toward record-breaking territory. Friday is expected to hit 99 degrees, which would tie the record set back in 2017. A heat advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday, and even Thursday night will stay warm with lows in the mid-60s—about 10 degrees above normal.

The mountains and western Colorado will also see high fire danger due to hot, dry, and breezy conditions.

Saturday will be just as intense, with more sunshine and near-record highs around 99 again. Sunday offers slight relief with highs in the mid-90s, but it’s still unusually warm for mid-June. A cold front arriving Sunday night will bring cooler air and scattered showers to kick off next week. Expect highs in the upper 70s to low 80s Monday through Thursday, with morning lows in the mid-50s.
