Masked Suspect Arrested After High-Speed Chase Through Denver, Faces Multiple Charges

Denver police arrested a masked suspect after a high-speed chase through city streets late on February 22, bringing a reckless pursuit to an end with the help of aerial surveillance. The incident began when officers Sunder and Torres from Police District 1 noticed a vehicle without license plates being driven by an individual wearing a ski mask. Their attempt to conduct a routine traffic stop quickly escalated when the driver refused to pull over and instead sped away, weaving dangerously through traffic.

The pursuit, which began near the 1400 block of N. Perry Street, quickly turned into a high-risk situation as the suspect continued to flee at dangerous speeds, forcing other drivers to swerve out of the way. Officers coordinated with DPD’s Air1 unit, which provided aerial surveillance to track the vehicle’s movements without escalating the risk to the public. The chase finally ended at W. Ohio Avenue and S. Decatur Street, where officers managed to contain and apprehend the suspect without further incident.

Upon detaining the driver, District 6 officers identified him as an adult male with a history of offenses and an active warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected fentanyl, adding to the suspect’s legal troubles. He now faces multiple charges, including evading police, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, and charges related to his outstanding warrant.

Denver police continue to crack down on reckless driving and drug-related crimes, urging residents to report any suspicious activity. Authorities remind the public that fleeing from law enforcement not only increases the risk of accidents but also carries serious legal consequences.
