It will take several years for the program to be fully implemented but renting a property in Denver can be a bit more complicated. Denver City Council approved new Programs that require a landlord Obtain a license to rent the property. Lawmakers said the licensing program would help the city get a clearer picture of rental inventory and implement the basic living conditions of the lessor.

City council chairman Stacy Gilmour, who submitted the bill, said it took two years to draft. She said it focuses on tenant rights and protection.
